Category Manager - Be the link between business strategy and sourcing

Become a key player in the sourcing team
We are an organization undergoing significant development and central changes, which require us at Norlys to work together and adapt strategically. Therefore, we are looking for a Category Manager with a focus on End Customers for our sourcing team at Norlys.

 

Here you will be part of a team of 12 colleagues, whereas you will work closely with two colleagues who have a focus on End Customers. Moreover, it is a team with a high priority task in developing the processes surrounding the major change management task Norlys have, concerning one of Denmark’s greatest integrations with Norlys and Telia Denmark A/S.

 

Your colleagues are located in Aarhus, Silkeborg and Copenhagen. So, you can expect some traveling to different locations. Seeking a Category Manager with industry insights

You are well-informed about market trends and naturally proactive in seeking out new opportunities. Your curiosity drives you to ensure our customers receive the best experience and the right solutions, understanding what the market demands for our agile offerings. This role involves playing a crucial part in identifying, building, and establishing new partnerships that align with the cross-selling potential within electricity, gas, internet, and TV.


You thrive when the framework is set, and you have the freedom to define the specifics. You will be responsible for seeking out new partners, exploring opportunities, and negotiating collaboration agreements. This role requires a good amount of energy, focus, and persistence, as it involves developing new paths and gaining experience in the field. And it should be fun!


Your primary tasks will be centered around the following:

  • Align category strategy with the business
  • Strategic sourcing, supplier management, and supplier development
  • Collaborating with the business and Sourcing Managers on commercial decisions
  • Stakeholder management
  • Participating in category meetings to share priorities and knowledge.

 

You will succeed in this role when you can innovate and support our B2C and B2B businesses in making the right procurement decisions and when you can establish attractive and long-term agreements with our suppliers, benefiting both parties.

Share the future of sourcing with your expertise
You ideally hold a master's degree or have a professional background in sourcing. Furthermore, you also have several years of experience within sourcing – maybe as a category manager, where you have worked with strategic procurement from a holistic perspective. Additionally, it is clearly an advantage if you are familiar with the industry and understand market dynamics. Your experience, knowledge, and network in this area are crucial for driving our strategic initiatives and ensuring successful outcomes.


The most important thing is that you are committed and community-oriented, and that you have the following personal qualities that will make you successful in the position:

  • You are systematic, structured, and can think new solutions and opportunities.
  • You excel at building constructive and value-creating supplier relationships and are a trustworthy internal and external collaborator.
  • You can engage and influence the organization and manage to create followership in a convincing and collaborative manner
  • You proficient in English both in writing and speaking at a negotiation level.

 

Importantly, you are a robust and experienced negotiator, motivated by entering and developing attractive contracts and supplier collaborations that make a difference for the business. As a person, you are driven by seeing visible results from your efforts and take independent responsibility for creating them.
