Your new team
At Norlys Digital, we are currently enhancing our backend team with a new senior software developer. You'll be joining a group of seven experienced colleagues dedicated to designing, building, testing, and supporting Norlys Digital's core infrastructure services. Our software and services provide a crucial link between technology and business, and we are looking for someone who can handle complex tasks in a diverse stakeholder environment with confidence and skill.

The role 
In your role as Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for:
 

• Designing, developing, deploying, and debugging software in our integration layer.
• Optimizing current software to improve quality and performance.
• Conducting code and design reviews.
• Projecting estimations for new development initiatives.
• Proactively solving problems by identifying potential issues and collaborating with relevant teams to implement solutions.
• Working within a scrum-based development team of skilled software developers.

Essential skills and experience
We are seeking a professional with a significant track record in software development who can demonstrate a senior level of expertise and with a strong foundation in software development, evidenced by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, or computer science. 

Your skill set should include:

• Proficiency in Java or a similar object-oriented language and SQL.
• Experience in microservice development, virtualization, and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with event sourcing and message queuing technologies like NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
• A good understanding of computer networking – routing, switching.
• Awareness of software security and secure development practices.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder management.

Additional information 
As Norlys is a predominantly Danish speaking company, with an increasing number of non-Danish speaking colleagues, English proficiency is becoming more important. If you are based in Jutland, expect to spend 1-2 days per month in Copenhagen. You must also be eligible for vetting by the Danish Defense Intelligence Service (FE) and maintain security clearance throughout your employment.
